✓Strong Against
- The Lost VikingsWhile the Vikings try to soak multiple lanes, your Toxic Nests (W) can reveal them and chip away at their low health. Plus, your 'Hat' (Symbiote) allows you to contest their soak without being there.
- Brightwing / FalstadThese are Global heroes. Abathur is the ultimate global. You can shield a teammate across the map instantly, often faster than they can teleport, ruining their attempt to gank.
- Slow Rotators (Arthas / Stitches)If the enemy team moves slowly between lanes, Abathur wins by Passive Soaking. Your Locusts and Monstrosity (if chosen) will push lanes while the enemy is busy walking across the map.
- Invisible Heroes (Nova / Zeratul)Your Toxic Nests are a nightmare for stealth heroes. Placing them in bushes or rotations reveals them, slows them, and warns your team exactly where the invisible threat is.
✗Weak Against
- Zeratul / Nova / GenjiThese Abathur Hunters can dive behind your structures. A good Zeratul will spend the whole game looking for your body. If you don't move constantly, they will find you and kill you in seconds.
- Dehaka / FalstadBecause they can teleport, they can Global right onto your head if you are spotted by a minion or a ward.
- Sylvanas / GreymaneThese heroes are Base Pushers. Abathur’s team is technically playing 4vs5 in the early game. If the enemy team has someone like Sylvanas who can disable towers and push quickly, they might win the game before Abathur becomes strong (at level 16/20).
- RagnarosHis Molten Core and Lava Wave can completely negate all the lane pressure Abathur builds up. You spend 5 minutes pushing a lane, and he clears it with one button.
