Build Overview

This build transforms Medivh into a scouting god and a late-game wave-clear machine. By taking Winds of Celerity and Dust of Appearance, you are prioritizing vision and information, which is often more valuable than raw damage in high-level play.

Pros
Cons
+Unmatched Scouting: With the extra movement speed in Raven form and the active reveal, no enemy can hide. You are the ultimate counter to 'stealth' heroes (Nova, Zeratul) and bush ganks.
Lower Burst Damage: By skipping Arcane Charge (Level 7) or Arcane Explosion (Level 4), you aren't 'one-shotting' anyone. You rely on your team to follow up on your utility.
+Late-Game Macro Power: Guardian of Tirisfal at level 20 is a game-changer. It allows you to instantly kill entire minion waves, letting you defend core or push lanes while your team fights elsewhere.
High Skill Ceiling: This build requires immense 'Map Awareness.' If you aren't constantly pinging and scouting while in Raven form, you lose the value of your early-level talents.
+High Sustainability: Reabsorption at level 13 turns the enemy’s burst damage into healing for your allies. If timed correctly, a 'failed' burst attempt by the enemy actually resets your teammate's health bar.
Quest Dependent: Like all Medivh builds, if you don't finish your baseline quest (Arcane Reach), your impact in team fights remains low.
+CC Chain Potential: Poly-bomb and Temporal Flux allow you to constantly slow and silence the enemy team, making it impossible for them to engage or retreat effectively.

Playstyle Tips

  • The Raven 'Taxi': With Winds of Celerity, you move faster than mounted heroes. Use this to rotate between lanes faster than the enemy, providing vision of their rotations.
  • The Poly-Bomb Trap: Use Poly-bomb in tight corridors or during an enemy's 'dive.' It forces them to spread out, ruining their positioning and breaking their ability to focus-fire your teammates.
  • Dust Usage: Don't just use Dust of Appearance to find stealthies. Use it to check Boss pits or suspicious bushes before your team face-checks them. Information is your strongest weapon.
  • Level 20 Strategy: Once you hit level 20, you become a 'Laning Menace.' If the enemy is grouped up, fly to a side lane, Q the minion wave (it dies instantly), and fly back. You can create massive map pressure without ever being in danger.

Strong Against

  • Kael'thas / Jaina / ChromieThese mages rely on 'one-shotting' a target. Your Force of Will (W) completely negates their entire rotation. Protecting a teammate from a Pyroblast makes Kael'thas useless for the next 100 seconds.
  • Garrosh / StitchesThese heroes rely on pulling/throwing a teammate into their team to kill them. Your Portal (E) is the ultimate 'get out of jail free' card. If Garrosh throws your ally, you just drop a portal at their feet and they are safe.
  • Butcher / KerriganThese 'Dive' heroes go all-in on one target. Between your shield and Poly-bomb, you can stop their engage and leave them stranded in the middle of your team.
  • Zeratul / Nova / ValeeraBecause you are Invulnerable in Raven form and have talents like Dust of Appearance, you can follow stealth heroes around the map and keep them revealed, ruining their ability to surprise anyone.

Weak Against

  • Lunara / Gul'dan / RaynorThese heroes deal constant, 'poke' damage. Your shield only lasts 1.5 seconds—you can block one hit, but they will keep hitting you or your team long after the shield is gone. You cannot 'out-shield' sustained DPS.
  • Malfurion / Brightwing / StukovSilences are your biggest nightmare. If you get silenced while in human form, you cannot use your Portal or Raven form to escape. A well-timed Twilight Dream from Malfurion makes you a very squishy, easy target.
  • Diablo / Anub'arakThese heroes have multiple 'interrupts.' If you are trying to channel a Portal to save a friend and Diablo charges you, the channel is broken and your teammate is likely dead.
  • Falstad / DehakaThese heroes can keep up with your mobility. While you fly over walls, they can 'Global' (teleport) to where you are going, meaning you can't always escape just by being a Raven.
