In The Witcher 2: Assassins of the Kings, he was the main writer and dialogue designer. All of the games in the trilogy met critical acclaim for their story, dialogues, and characters. Currently, the writer is working on the first CD Project Red’s game, not in the Witcher universe – Cyberpunk 2077. Aside from writing, Stępień was a creative director of Witcher 3: The Wild which was the best-received game in the series and was the biggest financial success for the studio.

Career

Very little is known about Blacha’s life and the beginning of his career. He joined CD Project Red as a senior designer. The first project he took part in was the studio’s debut game The Witcher. It was the first game in The Witcher series of role-playing games based on the Andrzej Sapkowski’s book franchise. Since that he has been working on every main installment in the series including two expansion packs for The Witcher 3 – Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine in which he was a Story Director. Aside from writing, Blacha also was a gameplay designer in the sequel to The Witcher – The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Outside CD Project Red, he worked as a narrative designer on some minor projects and developed two pen & paper RPGs as well as some expansions for them.
